Motorcycle helmets get dirty, and fast. One of the best tactics for cleaning your motorcycle helmet is to rely on products you have laying around your house. Let's start with the basics.
The first thing you want to do is to get a nice clean container and fill it with warm soap and water (such as a bucket). Mix the soap and water together, place your motorcycle helmet nearby.
Get a clean cloth and dip into the soapy water. Take it out of the container and squeeze out any excess water. Start rubbing the cloth on your motorcycle helmet. Start from the top of the helmet and work your way down. Gently make a rubbing motion as you go down. The most important thing to consider when cleaning your helmet is to not get any water on the inside. If water does happen to make its way inside of your helmet make sure and let it dry out with a blow dryer or some other cleaning device that blows air.
For the more tough pieces of dirt that are stuck on your helmet, apply a little more pressure. This is especially true for motocross helmets that are likely to have a lot of mud or grime on them. Once you have the motorcycle helmet nice and soapy you're almost done with process.
Take the cloth and rinse it out with cold water, squeeze out all the excess soap from the cloth. Now gently rinse the motorcycle helmet with the cloth, get all the left over soap with your cloth by gently going over them. By this point your helmet should be looking better and better by the instant. Finally, time for the drying part.
With your motorcycle helmet looking nice and pristine, let it dry out. Never put it directly into the sunlight as this may actually damage the paint on your motorcycle helmet. Remember you want your helmet looking brand spanking new.
And the more often you upkeep your helmet, the longer it will last. Both aesthetically and for safety standards, which in the end will save you a lot of money from buying new helmets all the time.
