The modular motorcycle helmet is perhaps one of the greatest inventions in the world of motorcycle helmets and is revolutionizing the way we see helmets being used in the world of motorcycles today. This helmet has a number of advantages over the traditional style full face helmet and are beginning to become the standard when it comes to that style of protective head wear for motorcyclists around the globe.
The modular motorcycle helmet is similar to the traditional style full face helmet in that it is made of a complete shell that encompasses the rider's entire head, including the face where a face mask exists. The helmet is generally made of a polycarbonate shell, which is a very tough material which combines the stiffness of plastic and the strength and durability of fiberglass all into one. The helmet is lined with a thick foam liner which serves as the protective layer, and that layer is cushioned by padding and other soft liner material.
What sets the modular motorcycle helmet apart from the other helmets is the sectional face mask that can be raised up or left in the locked position. If you don't want to completely move the front portion of the face mask, you can still resort to simply lifting up the shield. The front portion of the helmet can be raised up simply by clicking a button on the side of the helmet, which unlocks the front portion and allows it to flip up to the top of the helmet and remain there in a stationary position until you bring it back down and lock it in.
This has a number of advantages to the rider and one of the biggest advantages is ventilation. Sometimes simply lifting up the face shield does not provide the cooling ability that you would like so when you're able to flip up the entire front section of the helmet, you're able to get a lot more ventilation while riding which helps cool you down when temperatures are warm.
