I used to ride motocross in secondary school (now 30 years old), so I'm not a complete novice. I am looking for a cruiser style motorcycle over 500 CC. As of now, I have narrowed it down to the Yamaha V-star 650, Vulcan 500 and Honda Shadow Spirit .. I also looking for Harley Sportster 883, but not a great Harley kind of guy. What are your views? Thank you!

All three of these Japanese motors are extremely reliable and wonderful Starter bicycles. My first was rent in the shade. The decision is really limited to price, looks and comfort. Go sit on each and see which fits your body best. Also, if you intend to maintain and repair in stores, talk to some customers to see what their experience with mechanics is like.
