Is it safe to run off motorcycle from the alternator?
I have a '92 Honda CBR 600 F2, and I believe that the alternator is overcharging the battery. After a while riding bicycle starts to smell like rotten eggs when try removing the battery is very hot to the touch. My main question is after I get a bike started OK to disconnect connection of the battery and take off? After some research, some people say it will damage the generator voltage spikes since. If this so, then you can simply turn off good battery after it started and immediately replace it with a dead / weak just to stabilize everything?
Your voltage regulator, not functioning properly. He is "known" problem of F2. No, this is not safe to pass through battery. There must be verification regulator / Replaced.
